Temptu shout out to Hercules and Love Affair

 

Hercules and Love Affair has recently been causing quite a buzz in the music scene and here at Temptu we have been so happy to see this band get the recognition they deserve. Nomi, one of the groups lead vocalists, was one of our beloved employees up until a few months ago when she left to  pursue her music and her hard work has paid off. Here is a picture of her performing at the Sonar Festival in Spain.

Temptu teams up with Almost Human for IMATS LA 2008

IMATS Pasadena 2008 was a force to be reckoned with as Temptu gathered with top makeup industry professionals on the West Coast. The crowds gathered as Temptu makeup artists shared airbrushing tips and tricks, as well as their favorite products.  On Saturday, Temptu played host to renowned Hollywood Special FX House Almost Human with Artist and owner, Robert Hall. The Key Special FX artist on Fox Television’s show Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles.  Robert transformed his lovely wife and actor on the show, Bobby Sue into a Terminator using silicone appliances, cast metal, Temptu FX palettes and airbrush makeup.  It was a fantastic display of how versatile our product really is in both the beauty AND special f/x arenas.

Temptu Los Angeles Training

 

With our new showroom in Los Angeles completed, we have started our West Coast training.  Makeup artists from all over Southern California from Long Beach to Orange County, from East LA to West converged to join the Temptu West Coast Team.

Makeup artists working in special fx, beauty and retail came together to be welcomed by Temptu VP and Chief Makeup Artist JP McCary and instructed by Temptu Trainer and Lead Artist Dani Fonseca.

On Saturday, June 21 from noon – 2pm, Temptu will host at its booth Robert Hall, owner of Hollywood Special FX house Almost Human, creators of special FX makeup and prosthetics for television shows Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Superbad and Angel. Robert will demonstrate special FX makeup he uses on Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles and give tips on airbrush makeup for FX and prosthetic devices.

CFDA Awards Limited Edition Book showcases Temptu Body Art

The Council of Fashion Designer of America (CFDA) Awards is one of the biggest fashion events of the season.  This year, the CFDA sent attendees home with a book shot my Mikael Jansson featuring supermodel Raquel Zimmerman in the twenty-five nominees’ designs.  Celebrity Makeup Artist Mark Carrasquillo enlisted Temptu Lead Body Artist Jenai Chin and Temptu Pro Transfers to showcase the jewelry of Emerging Talent in Accessories Winner Philip Crangi. 

Temptu featured in Broadway Bares: Backstage Pass

Over the years many of our artists have had the opportunity to work on the Broadway Bares Show.  If you have never heard of Broadway Bares, you have to check it out. Every year Broadway Cares and Equity Fights AIDS throw this amazing show and it leaves little to the imagination. This book features backstage as well as performance shots and all the money goes to charity.

Celebrity Makeup Artist Tyron Machausen used Temptu again to achieve his exquisite vision, this time for the cover story of W Korea. You can also read about Seoul Fashion Week. 

A Temptu Update.

Temptu has had some big changes recently with new people coming in and some other leaving for new oppurtunities. We want to wish all of the them the best. Justin was the previous keeper of the Blog here, and he has since went to work with Albert Maysles at Maysles Films. We wish him the best. You can read about Maysles Films at this link and see all the amazing documentaries he has produced over the years.
