We had a great turnout this past weekend at The Makeup Show LA.  TEMPTU PRO launched a new selection of 12 S/B Multicolors for cheeks, lips, AND eyes.  Teal was the hands down show favorite, with Lavender, Wine, and Platinum close behind.

TEMPTU PRO for Odilon Fall 2011

For her Fall 2011 collection, Stacey Clark designer of the California-based Odilon held a multi-media presentation for her Fall 2011 New York Fashion Week Debut.  Clark’s collection was inspired by the myth of the Greek Goddess Persephone and her transformation from a young, naïve girl into the womanly, unwilling queen of the underworld.  The multi-media presentation included a short film by filmmaker Alia Raza featuring Hailey Gates, accompanied by a live music set by DJ Rachel Chandler. Artist / makeup artist William Lemon III will keyed the makeup for TEMPTU PRO.

ISSE Long Beach: we came, we saw, we airbrushed!

Non-stop crowds, and a packed Sunday class of 56 people (standing room only!) easily made this year’s show our best yet at ISSE.  TEMPTU PRO makeup artists Levi Vieira, Eloisa Barreto, and Jackie Fan worked their airbrush magic on many trade show attendees.  The star of the show, however, was our TEMPTU PRO S/B Airbrush Makeup!

The Emmy Awards were this past Sunday, and Angela Kinsey looked gorgeous!

I swear every year gets better and better!

The man that’s in the picture with me below, is Theodore Leaf. Theodore does Angela’s hair and we really make a great team. Teamwork is key to me in the business, and on days like the Emmy’s, I actually prefer to work with the hair stylist at the same time so the look comes to life all at once!

Tip of the week: Concealer: Blend, Blend, Blend!

I am a total blender! Blending is the key to perfect color match! You never want it to be obvious that someone has concealer on.

Here are my steps to flawless skin:

• First I fill my airbrush with TEMPTU PRO S/B Foundation #004 and #006.
• Then I spray some of the foundation onto my palette, to mix it with my concealer – this gets me the closest color match possible
• Next, I apply the concealer where it’s needed and I blend it out to make sure there are no brush strokes (everything shows up on HD!)
• Once I’m done concealing, I airbrush the foundation
• To complete the look, I dusted TEMPTU PRO Invisible Difference Powder ONE and perfecto!

Amazing, flawless skin!

Working on So You Think You Can Dance, Season 7, was both an honor and a pleasure!!!

Under the department head Amy Strozzi, I was able to put my talents to use on some pretty amazing faces!

TEMPTU PRO S/B is the only foundation I have in my kit. I generally airbrush on all my gigs, but sometimes I play around with other techniques. 

Have you ever just brushed on the S/B foundation??? Well that’s what I did here, for Lauren G of the All Star Team. I applied her makeup 6 hours prior to when this photo was taken…

If you ever find yourself in a pinch without a compressor or perhaps working a gig where they prefer you to use traditional makeup application techniques (or if the director specifically asks you to use something really sheer….brushing on the S/B formula will give you a BEAUTIFUL result! You can lightly apply for sheer or add layers for a full, yet skin like coverage.

I started with prepping her skin….toner, eye cream, moisturizer…and PRIMER (don’t forget your TEMPTU PRO S/B Primer)!! Then I went to town with S/B foundation #6 on a palette and a brush in my hand.

The 2010 Makeup Show NYC was an event to be remembered. Held the 16^th and 17^th of  May at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea New York. Many of the top players in the beauty and fashion industries were in attendance. For the fifth year this tradeshow proved to be in a class of it’s own.  Attendees flew in from around to world to view the most up-to-the-minute products, technology and techniques being used and launched throughout the beauty industry. TEMPTU PRO, a consistent leader in creating innovative and cutting-edge products, held a strong presence in the production of the event, being a platinum sponsor. The launch of new S/B Pro Blush Colors was a huge hit selling out within the first day.  Temptu professionals also offered training with demonstrations at the booth and  formal informative presentations.

One of Temptu’s very own makeup specialists, Danielle Fonesca, gave a keynote speech on Editorial Airbrushing. Click here for more on information on Danielle (Dani). It was a riveting and exciting demonstration of how and why airbrush makeup is not only the best, but quite clearly the only way to achieve the results longed for in the industry In only 45 minutes, Danielle was able to create three distinct fashion-forward looks on one model. For the first editorial look she created a neutral bridal look, creating the flawless “without makeup look”, a current trend in the industry according to several outlets such as Marie Claire Magazine. After finishing this look, Danielle moved on to a more high fashion dramatic look by adding a smoky eye, black brow, contoured skin and a nude lip. Continuing to build upon the previous layers of airbrush makeup, Danielle created an avant-garde high fashion avant-garde look with the use of both bright green and yellow hi-pigment color for the eyes. This is a look seen on the runways and reminiscent of the high voltage color palate of the 80s.

This was a great success for Temptu Pro, as well as all of those present. With industry professionals mingling, able to come together for a similar cause in one space, The Makeup Show shaped a space for learning, observation and just plain fun. The energy was high and the exhilaration in the air was strong.  Temptu continues to be at the forefront of the makeup industry’s advanced technologies and is always on the hunt for more expertise. As such, Temptu Pro looks as though they won’t be settling for anything less than success in the coming years.

Green Day’s American Idiot Broadway Premiere Afterparty

Last night TEMPTU PRO was on hand to celebrate the brand new Broadway production American Idiot written by the rock band Green Day.   TEMPTU PRO Airbrush Tattoo Artists,  Jenai Chin and Adrian Reamey, tatted guests with custom designed tattoos during the Premiere Afterparty at the Roseland Ballroom.  Crowds were lined up to get the custom designed Temptu tattoo — American Idiot album artwork of a fist holding a grenade heart.

A Broadway backstage secret, TEMPTU PRO transfers and stencils are all over the cast to help them “get into character”. Remember makeup is not just the blush on one’s cheeks!

High def, high pressure: Advent of HD TV has some news anchors sweating

When Kathie Lee Gifford announced her new gig on the “Today” show last week, she quipped, “I’m 8 years older, 10 pounds heavier and half an inch shorter — just in time for HD television.” 

KSTP anchor Cyndy Brucato, 57, chuckled when she heard it. Her producers tested out high-definition cameras in their Minneapolis station a month ago, and Brucato served as their guinea pig. “I had to laugh,” she said. “I was thinking, ‘If I look OK, everyone else will.’” 

High-def TV brings every detail into stunning clarity. It’s awesome for viewing the pine needles in a forest or the white caps of an ocean, but it’s awful for viewing the pores of an anchor’s face — especially if you’re the anchor… (read more)
