Look to Max Azria for Spring Looks

September 16, 2010

Max Azria’s Spring 2011 Runway show highlighted a super casual, soft, and fresh makeup look, sure to be a hit for the Spring.  Designed by makeup artist Lisa Butler and carried out by the TEMPTU PRO team, see below for the details!

The desired look for the show was to produce angelic-looking, youthful girls. The makeup was soft to compliment the collection which was made up of soft and muted peaches and creams.

“On the skin, we’re using a silicone and water hybrid, brush-on foundation called TEMPTU RETOUCH FOUNDATION to cancel out any redness and give a fresh, dewy look,” explained Lisa Butler.

To achieve a heavenly glow, makeup artists brushed the TEMPTU RETOUCH HIGHLIGHTER in Pink Pearl a little bit higher than the model’s natural cheekbones. They also used the same color on the model’s arms, legs, and décolletage to add a nice sheen.

To finish off the look, they added a peach blush just below the apples of the cheeks and left the lips and eyes bare.

Nothing to it! A beautiful soft and simple look that is totally wearable and easy to recreate!

Angela Kinsey on the Red Carpet

September 3, 2010

The Emmy Awards were this past Sunday, and Angela Kinsey looked gorgeous!

I swear every year gets better and better!

The man that’s in the picture with me below, is Theodore Leaf. Theodore does Angela’s hair and we really make a great team. Teamwork is key to me in the business, and on days like the Emmy’s, I actually prefer to work with the hair stylist at the same time so the look comes to life all at once!

Tip of the week: Concealer: Blend, Blend, Blend!

I am a total blender! Blending is the key to perfect color match! You never want it to be obvious that someone has concealer on.

Here are my steps to flawless skin:

  • First I fill my airbrush with TEMPTU PRO S/B Foundation #004 and #006.
  • Then I spray some of the foundation onto my palette, to mix it with my concealer – this gets me the closest color match possible
  • Next, I apply the concealer where it’s needed and I blend it out to make sure there are no brush strokes (everything shows up on HD!)
  • Once I’m done concealing, I airbrush the foundation
  • To complete the look, I dusted TEMPTU PRO Invisible Difference Powder ONE and perfecto!

Amazing, flawless skin!

Enjoy your Labor Day weekend! Till next week!    Kristina Duff – Guest Blogger and Hollywood Makeup Artist

White Beauty

July 8, 2010

Is it only a coincidence that my horoscope said that white was my color of the week?  Perhaps, but I have always been in awe of  porcelain skin and a flushed cheek and this just happens to be one of my favorite looks created by Erica Carr, a San Francisco based makeup artist working in fashion, TV and print.

A throwback to Colonial and Victorian times, these images conjure that artful playfulness that makeup can bring out in all of us.

-Laura Reynolds, TEMPTU PRO

To achieve the look, Erica airbrushed her entire body with S/B White and accented the cheeks with S/B Blush & Coral.

It was hot of the press and disappearing from the newsstands, but Temptu finally tracked down the October issue of Zink Magazine.  It was well worth the wait to see high fashion makeup artist Ralph Siciliano working his magic in 3 of the “Spellbinding Beauty” stories:  For Your Eyes Only, True Colors, and Mystic Beauty.   In For Your Eyes Only, Ralph airbrushed with Temptu S/B Hi Def colors Red and Purple.   For True Colors, he used Temptu Invisible Difference Powder #2 and S/B Airbrow color Deep Taupe.  And for Mystic Beauty, Ralph airbrushed Kelsey Rogers with S/B Foundation in Porcelain.  To see more work by Ralph Siciliano, click Here!  To order a copy of Zink, click Here!

Pro Makeup Artist accomplishes flawless looks with Temptu

October 1, 2008

LA based Makeup Artist, Anthony Merante, has only been airbrushing since the beginning of the summer, but you wouldn’t believe it if you saw his work.  Anthony has an amazing vision and a true artistic touch when it comes to creating a look…dramatic or natural.  Check out these images and Anthony’s tips on how to use Temptu products.  For more on information on Anthony, visit his website HERE and look for him soon in our Artists section!

Pale face with Eye Lashes: The models face was first prepped and primed. I then applied Temptu Aqua Foundation in shade 101 all over the face, neck and ears to pale out the skin. After this foundation set, I applied a very light application of Temtpu SB Foundation in shade 001. By layering the two foundations, I got the coverage with the Aqua Formula and the sheen with the SB Formula. I applied a powder blush in shade Dandelion from Benefit Cosmetics to the apple of the cheeks and into the hairline. I wanted to match the brows to her hair color and I did this with the Temptu Airbrow Kit. I mixed SB colors Rich Brown and Hi-Def Red and stenciled the brows with La Dolce Vita stencil. To further elongate and shape the brows, I hand applied my brow mixture with a fine angled brow brush. I applied some feathery false lashes and lined the eyes in a black Kohl Eye Pencil. Lips were painted in a mixture of a soft matte pink lipstick and Temptu SB Foundation in shade 001.

Clean Beauty Shot: First I applied Embryolisse 24 Hour Miracle Cream to prep the face. Then I applied Temptu SB Primer with a flat foundation brush. I then airbrushed the models face with Temptu SB Foundation in shades in 004 and 003 to highlight. I added a couple drops of the SB Blush in shade “Blush” and lightly rouged the apple of the cheeks. I let the foundation and blush set then misted the face with a glycerin spray and patted lightly with a clean powder puff for an extra dewy finish.
