Cure those artistic lows with some Hi-Fructose

One of the few magazines that I hunt for at my local Barnes and Noble every few months is Hi-Fructose.  It’s one of the better alternative art magazines on the racks.  Fully illustrated, this magazine really packs a visual punch with frame worthy prints from a mix of underground artists, emerging and rediscovered counter cultures and awe inspiring spectacles from around the world.  I’ve already started clipping some of my favorite works from past issues!

Included in the new issue HF Volume 14 is a special sketchbook section straight out of the incredibly creative, slightly disturbing mind of Greg “Craola” Simkins.  The people at Hi-Fructose even splurged on a special paper and print job to replicate the appearance of pencil on sketch paper.  I love a magazine that splurges for it’s artist’s spreads don’t you?  If you are looking for a break from all this cold, gray weather then go grab a copy of Hi-Fructose and get such a visual jolt you won’t even need that extra cup of coffee.
